Thy Cask 933 - Rye, barley and spelt whisky

Thy Cask 933 - Rye, barley and spelt whisky, 4 YO, 58.2%

From Danish distillery Thy Whisky. This is one of three bottlings launched exclusively for the Thy Festival 2025. The mashbill consists of malted rye, malted barley, and malted spelt. Distilled December 2020, matured in a single virgin oak cask, and bottled 2025. Limited to 253 bottles.

The Thy Cask 933 - Rye, barley and spelt whisky is available from the distillery at DKK 899.

Nose: Red berries - even hints of strawberries, figs and raisins. Then creamy vanilla and a mild pepperiness. With time also orange zest and orange marmalade.

Taste: Full bodied. Again the red berries, now spiced up with Sichuan pepper (dancing on the tongue). Dried citrus and ginger in the background.

Finish: Medium long finish. More of the berries and spices, but with added orchard fruits. Chocolate and caramel in the end.

Comment: Truly delightful!
