Thy Cask 414 + 435 - single malt whisky

Thy Cask 414 + 435 - single malt whisky, 4 YO, 56%

A brand new release from Thy Whisky, Denmark. This is one of three bottlings launched exclusively for the Thy Festival 2025. Made using Odyssey barley; with a mash bill of Vienna malt (76%) and pale malt (24%). Matured in one 200L ex-bourbon cask and one partial 500L ex-PX butt. Distilled March to May 2020, and bottled 2025-03-01. Limited to 201 bottles.

The Thy Cask 414 + 435 - single malt whisky is still available to buy from the distillery at DKK 899.

Nose: First off I get light notes of fresh orchard fruits and vanilla. Then in the second wave malt and hints of dried fruits. With time also mild oakiness.

Taste: Full bodied. Pepper, marzipan, citrus and nuts. Somehow creamy and dry in character at the same time.

Finish: Medium long finish. Creamy vanilla, sponge cake and more marzipan. The spices have subsided now. Dried fruits and red berries in the end.

Comment: A fine dram.
