This privacy policy describes how Whisky Saga (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use the Whisky Saga mobile application.

Information stored on your device

The Whisky Saga app allows you to store certain information locally on your device:

Favorites and lists: whiskies marked as Have Tasted, To Try, Owned or Wishlist.

Personal tasting notes and scores: notes and scores you add to whiskies in the app.

Age confirmation: confirmation that you are of legal drinking age in your jurisdiction.

This information is stored locally on your device. It is not transmitted to our servers and we do not have access to it.

Information we do not collect

The Whisky Saga app does not require user registration or account creation.

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, precise location, contacts, photos, payment information or personal identifiers through the app.

We do not use the app to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.

We do not sell personal information.

Analytics and crash reporting

The Whisky Saga app may collect limited technical information to help us understand app performance, diagnose crashes and improve reliability.

This may include app version, device model, operating system version, crash logs and basic technical diagnostics.

This information is used only for app maintenance, troubleshooting and improvement. It is not used for advertising, profiling or tracking users across apps or websites owned by other companies.

The app does not use third-party advertising or tracking services.

Data storage and deletion

Favorites, personal scores, personal tasting notes, preferences and age confirmation are stored locally on your device.

You can delete locally stored app data by deleting the relevant entries in the app, where such functionality is available, or by uninstalling the app. Uninstalling the app removes locally stored app data from your device.

Third-party services

The app is built using Expo and React Native. The app is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play.

These platforms and development frameworks may have their own privacy practices outside the Whisky Saga app. Whisky Saga does not use these services to collect personal information from users of the app.

Children and legal drinking age

The Whisky Saga app contains information about alcoholic beverages and is intended only for users who are of legal drinking age in their jurisdiction.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children or from users below the legal drinking age. The app includes an age confirmation step before access to content.

Alcohol content disclaimer

The Whisky Saga app contains information about alcoholic beverages for educational and informational purposes. We promote responsible drinking and compliance with local laws regarding alcohol consumption.
