Here is another release from Australian distillery The Gospel Distillers. Now here is The Gospel Straight Rye Whisky, and what they say about the product at the distillery (see the official product page for more):

“Made using 100% Australian grown unmalted rye from a single farm in the Murray Mallee region of South Australia, it is double distilled and then aged for at least two years in charred, new American oak barrels.”

The Gospel Straight Rye Whisky is available in Norway at NOK 779 (19560201).

Nose: Highly appealing nose. Rye bread, vanilla, and mild caramel. With time also notes of honey, black and white pepper, maple syrup and stewed apples.

Taste: Full bodied. Lots of caramel and peppery notes up front. Then ripe apple and vanilla on the second wave. Followed by cinnamon and even a hint of licorice after that.

Finish: Medium long finish. Softly oaky, with distinct notes of white pepper, licorice and cinnamon. Softly grassy and herbal towards the end.

Comment: Yummy and different!
