Teerenpeli Soidin

Teerenpeli Soidin, NAS, 40%

A brand new product from Finnish distillery Teerenpeli. The Soidin is aimed at the international market initially, and the aim is to provide a quality, entry level whisky to the consumer. Teerenpeli have even setup a special website for the Soidin with all the details, including many exciting cocktail recipes.

Teerenpeli have always been very creative and conscious about their product naming. Every single product name is connected to local and/or Finnish culture in some way. For the Soidin this is, of course, also the case:

“The name Teerenpeli is an old Finnish expression for playful courtship and black grouses mating game, while Soidin refers to the dramatic mating rituals found in Nordic nature - 'the black grouse’s dance'.”

So, it’s all about the “coming together” then, I guess. Kippis!

The Teerenpeli Soidin is not yet available in Norway, but you can get it in the UK at around GBP 50, and in many other markets.

Nose: Rich and inviting with dried fruits, caramel and malt in elegant balance. Firm and full of character for its strength, developing lighter notes of red berries and fruity rock candy over time.

Taste: Medium bodied, poised between sweetness and dryness. Fruity and juicy with raisins at the forefront, supported by mild oak and gentle spice.

Finish: Medium to short. Caramel, dried fruits and subtle toasted oak carry the flavour gracefully to the end.

Comment: Modest strength, exceptional value and charm.
