This is the first official bottling from Norwegian distillery Klostergården Tautra. The Tautra Malt Lagatun was distilled in December 2018, matured in a total of ten 40L 1st fill ex-bourbon casks, and bottled 2025-11-05. Limited to 438 bottles.

The Tautra Malt Lagatun is still available to buy in Norway at NOK 1733 (20073302).

Nose: Delicate, sweet and earthy smoke, with chocolate and vanilla layered over earthy cinnamon.

Taste: Full bodied and quite smoky, but the smoke is rich and sweet rather than aggressive. Delightfully rich with chocolate, leather and red berries, lifted by a hint of citrus.

Finish: Medium to long. Continues much as it started, yet remarkably persistent for such a young whisky. Beautifully balanced. Chocolate cake develops into oven-warm brownies, slightly burnt around the edges.

Comment: What a delightful debut! Wow!
