This is an independent bottling from Watt Whisky. A Strathmill single malt matured for ten years in an ex-bourbon hogshead. Limited to 310 bottles.

Nose: Lots of vanilla going on here, followed by playful notes of apple and pear. With time, things take a slightly darker and richer turn, with toffee, malt and warm apple pie adding a comforting sweetness.

Taste: Full bodied. A little spicier than the nose, and perhaps a touch sweeter as well. Otherwise, there is excellent balance and a seamless carryover from the nose, with creamy vanilla, orchard fruits and warm, malty sweetness working nicely together.

Finish: Medium long. A certain bitterness emerges now, bringing a drier and more oaky character to the sweetness. A hint of rowan berries adds a pleasantly tart edge towards the end.

Comment: Playful, with a bitter twist.
