This is a Summer 2023 release in The Family Casks series by Glenfarclas. Matured in a single refill ex-sherry hogshead (cask #6226), bottled 2023-07-19, and limited to 268 bottles.

Nose: Dried fruits with a pinch of freshly ground black pepper. Red berries and toasted oak add further depth, giving the nose a pleasantly fruity yet slightly spicy character.

Taste: Full bodied. Some oakiness and mild spices up front, nicely reflecting the nose. Then the fruitiness softens, shifting towards ripe orchard fruits. Almond paste adds a gentle, nutty sweetness.

Finish: Medium to long. Marzipan, dried fruits and creamy vanilla take centre stage now. Towards the end, hints of orange zest, leather and dried rhubarb emerge, bringing a slightly tart edge to the semi-dry finish.

Comment: Fruity richness.
