Stauning Hardcore Edition - Batch #2 - Censored (2025)
Stauning Hardcore Edition - Batch #2 - Censored (2025), NAS, 61.1%
Made using 100% floor malted locally sourced cereals, mainly rye. Matured in new charred oak. Limited to 661 bottles. The name Censored is due to restrictions on the use of “rye whisky” from an old trade agreement between the EU and Canada. Let’s hope they will be able to resolve this nonsense pronto (see more on this issue here)!
You can buy the Stauning Hardcore Edition - Batch #2 - Censored (2025) direct from the distillery at DKK 595.
Nose: Artisanal rye bread, crunchy and crispy bread crust, white pepper and earthy vanilla.
Taste: Full bodied. Very dry in character. Lots of black pepper and then a wave of rich notes of rye bread. Slightly burnt crust on that rye bread. Then sugary sweetness with a touch of licorice.
Finish: Medium long finish. Rye bread, some black pepper and hints of honey. Remains rather dry throughout.
Comment: Rock solid and uncomplicated.
