This 13 year limited edition from Kilchoman was released earlier this year. Matured in three types of casks; ex-bourbon barrels, ex-bourbon octaves, and ex-Calvados casks.

The Kilchoman 13 YO Limited Edition will be available in Norway next week at NOK 1600 (19736301).

Nose: Big and rich from the first sniff. It’s not all meaty, fruity and peaty though - even if we certainly do have those welcome elements. It is also fresh and light with notes of citrus and honey-glazed apples.

Taste: Again big and certainly full bodied. Smoky and peaty, again with lighter notes of citrus. Creamy caramel and vanilla, with a touch of oak.

Finish: Medium long finish. Ashes and barbecued meat now enter the mix. Lingering notes of citrus and caramel.

Comment: Kilchoman does mature well it seems,
