Nyborg Destilleri in Denmark sells their single malt whisky under the brand Isle of Fionia.

Initially matured for about two years in ex-bourbon casks, then finished for a year or two in STR and ex-Ruby port casks.

You can buy the Isle of Fionia - Little Isle straight from the distillery at DKK 525.

Nose: Softly oaky and a bit youngish. Vanilla and fresh orchard fruits. White pepper. Hints of wet soil. With time more oakiness and more pear.

Taste: Medium to light body. Starts off with black and white pepper, some oaky astringency. Dry in character.

Finish: Medium to short finish. Drier still. Then it relents and we get a brief wave of juicy tropical fruits and vanilla.

Comment: Still a bit young.
