More Norwegian single malt whisky! Here is the latest from Hiernagla Brenneri. This whisky has been fully matured in 1st fill ex-bourbon casks from Widow Jane.

Hiernagla Flagghaugfyrsten, or simply Hiernagla Fyrsten, is now available to buy in Norway at NOK 990 (19752002).

Nose: Strawberry milkshake followed by hot caramel sauce and pencil shavings. With time also cinnamon, assorted exotic spices and warm notes of mustard seeds.

Taste: Full bodied. Creamy as a very creamy cream. Vanilla and butter milkshake, with white pepper, ginger and cinnamon sprinkled on top for added flavor. Orange zest creeping in from the background.

Finish: Medium long finish. Creamy vanilla all the way. The peppery notes dissipate and are replaced by tropical fruits, marzipan and white chocolate.

Comment: Like a warm hug from a long lost .. well, .. whisky.
