Glenmorangie A Tale of Spices

Glenmorangie A Tale of Spices, 46.0%

The annual tale from Glenmorangie is here. This time it is a tale of spices. The Glenmorangie A Tale of Spices has been matured in the following four cask types:

  • Moroccan red wine casks (French oak)

  • New charred oak casks

  • Shaved and toasted red wine casks (STR)

  • Pedro Ximénez sherry casks

The Glenmorangie A Tale of Spices goes on sale in Norway this week at NOK 1204 (19700501).

Nose: Mild vanilla and marshmallows at first. It is mild and lovely, really. But there are hardly any spices here, it is more floral and perfumed.

Taste: Medium to full body. The spices are coming through more now, that’s for sure. Pepper, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, even aniseed in the background.

Finish: Medium long finish. More spices, and some earthy vanilla. Orchard fruits as we go in for landing.

Comment: A pleasant tale for sure.
