Very Secret Speyside 1998 (Little Brown Dog), 26 YO, 50.2%
This “very secret Speyside” whisky is not so secret anymore, if it ever was. Independent bottler Little Brown Dog spells it out on their website (also see the video below) that this is a single cask Glenlivet. Distilled 1998-06-10, matured in a single ex-bourbon barrel, and bottled 2024-10-31. Limited to 245 bottles.
The Very Secret Speyside 1998 (Little Brown Dog) will be available in Norway this week at NOK 4505 (19697701).
Nose: Old school candy store in a bottle. Fruity, sweet, light, lovely. Notes of candy floss, chocolate, caramel and fruity hard candy. With time also light notes of leather and nuts.
Taste: Full bodied. The candies have now been replaced by desserts and confectionaries. Almond pudding, honey cake, crème brûlée and chocolate mousse.
Finish: Very long finish. If possible we now have both candies and desserts, with added notes of leather and more nuts.
Comment: Yikes!
