Danish Whisky Megablend First Edition (2026)

Danish Whisky Megablend First Edition (2026), 3 YO, 50 %

This Danish whisky is a statement, born from the Danish Whisky Manifesto. Composed of single malt from all the ten founding signatories to the Danish Whisky Manifesto (read more about the manifesto here), and finished in ex-bourbon casks:

  • Copenhagen Distillery

  • Fary Lochan

  • Knaplund (finish casks)

  • Nordisk Brænderi

  • Nyborg Distillery

  • Sall Whisky Distillery

  • Stauning Whisky

  • Thornæs Destilleri

  • Thy Whisky Distillery

  • Ærø Whisky

Bottled by Thy Whisky, and limited to 765 bottles. This release is most definitely a statement!

Nose: Sugary sweet, light and fruity with gentle oakiness underneath. Soft malt adds a little more depth.

Taste: Full bodied with vanilla and orchard fruits. A playful chewing gum note adds charm and lightness, balanced by some oaky astringency.

Finish: Medium long. More vanilla and caramel, turning darker and drier as the oak becomes increasingly prominent. A slightly bitter edge marks the end.

Comment: Charming fruit meets assertive oak.

Score 83/100
