One of two single cask Chichibu releases exclusive to Norway and Sweden. Matured in a 1st fill ex-bourbon barrel (cask #5884), and limited to 203 bottles.

The Chichibu 2016 Cask by Cask No. 2 is available to buy in Sweden at SEK 2999 (41824).

Now also available in Norway starting November 13 at NOK 3469 (19429901).

Nose: Restrained and shy. Bourbon cask profile for sure though. Vanilla and honey notes at first. Orchard fruits slowly morphing into more tropical varieties. Nuts. Menthol and a whiff of toasted oak with time.

Taste: Full bodied. Rather wine-like in character. Lots of red berries up front - raspberry to be precise. Then, on the second wave I get more tropical fruits and vanilla notes. Honey and hints of white pepper.

Finish: Medium long finish. Bitterish and sweet at the same time. Nuts again, and the menthol from the nose makes a return. The raspberry notes linger.

Comment: A very fine dram.
