An independent bottling from Gordon & MacPhail. Distilled 2009-03-31, matured in 1st fill ex-sherry hogsheads (casks #323-325), and bottled 2017-03-21. This is an unpeated Bunnahabhain.
Nose: Lots of nuts (almonds mainly) and vanilla upfront. This is potent stuff, but I would not categorize it as a sherry bomb. Both oak and malt appear on further visits.
Taste: Very rich and full-bodied. More fruity now, and with a touch of spices and green. Apples, ginger, white pepper, vanilla and hay. Redcurrant and some oakiness, but way in the back.
Finish: Medium long. A soothing sweetness bring us in for a soft landing. White sugar, mild caramel sauce and hints of nuts. Some mint right at the end.
Comment: Lovely and powerful Bunnahabhain,
Score 87/100
