A release from independent bottler Adelphi. This Bunnahabhain was matured in a single refill ex-Oloroso sherry gorda. Distilled 1998 and bottled 2022. Limited to 587 bottles.

Nose: Intense and aromatic notes of dried fruits is what first hits me. This is so rich - concentrated really. Plums, figs and raisins - is this really a refill cask? Dark chocolate with luxurious jam filling. A fair bit of oakiness - powerful yet delicate.

Taste: Very rich and full bodied. Just as intense, powerful and concentrated on the palate as on the nose. And this is a good thing, because this is divine.

Finish: Long finish. Lots of figs, prunes and raisins. A long and lingering landing. The intensity softly dissipates. The sweetness takes on lighter notes - dried fruits now morphing into tropical fruits. Mild spiciness in the background, as well as a pinch of salt.

Comment: Heavy handed and delicate at the same time.
