Here is one of the two Christmas 2020 releases from independent bottler Dràm Mòr Group. The Tullibardine 2015 5 YO has been fully matured in a 1st fill Oloroso sherry cask ( cask #9900098).

There seems to be a few bottles left out there at around € 64.

Nose: Oooh, this is impressive. Very well integrated and balanced for a five year old cask strength whisky. Aromatic and rich. Dried fruits give a Christmas-y feel. It comes across as warm and welcoming. Sherry soaked raisins, cinnamon, nutmeg and hints of ginger. Vanilla, ripe apples and home made caramel pudding. The nose keeps developing very nicely. It feels almost like a Scottish Kavalan.

Taste: Very rich and certainly full of that which I call body. Much the same as the nose really. Aromatic fruitiness and a clear sherry influence. A deep, sugary sweetness also appears, and I do not mind at all.

Finish: Medium long finish. Keeps on keeping on. The sugary notes now more like honey mixed with PX sherry. A little dry right at the end.

Comment: Wow! It struck me like a sherry bomb from clear skies.

Score 89/100
