This is a blended Japanese whisky from Sakurao Distillery, made in accordance with the (relatively) new Japanese whisky regulations. Previous incarnations of this product did not comply with these rules, so this is a new product as such. Matured in ex-bourbon casks before the peated cask finish. Containing 18% malt whisky and the rest grain whisky made from barley - all made and matured in Japan. The Togouchi Peated Cask Finish Blended Japanese Whisky is available to buy in Norway at NOK 800 (20230001).

Nose: Sweet and softly peated with gentle wood smoke. Orange peel, dark chocolate and toasted oak lead, followed by pencil shavings and brighter citrus. Sponge cake soaked in fresh orange juice with grated zest.

Taste: Medium bodied. The smokiness is more pronounced than expected, clearly driven by the cask influence. It integrates well with the fruity sweetness.

Finish: Medium long. Soft smoke intertwines with orange and vanilla. A hint of green herbs appears before a dry, chewing gum-like end.

Comment: Orange-forward with elegant smoke.
