A single malt whisky from Danish distillery Thornæs. Distilled 2021-06-10, matured in a virgin chestnut cask, and bottled 2025-08-15.

This whisky is part of a five-bottle set, A Taste of Denmark, bottled for http://Whiskybaren.dk in Denmark. A total of 78 sets were made, priced at 3500 DKK for the full 5 x 50cl set.

Nose: Wine-like tones straight away, followed by forest floor and autumnal depth. Hints of mushroom and balsamic vinegar add intrigue. Dark and atmospheric at first, then brightening into something unexpectedly uplifting.

Taste: Full bodied and bursting with flavour. Juicy sweetness from red fruits and berries leads, followed by gentle echoes of the forest floor, wet leaves and soft mushroom notes.

Finish: Medium long. Sweet, light and juicy. The forest gives way to a sunny clearing filled with tropical fruit trees and baskets of candy, ending on a playful, vibrant note.

Comment: Dark woods meet joyful fruit.
