The Last Drop 50 YO Signature Blend

The Last Drop 50 YO Signature Blend, 48.7 %

The image is from another, similar release from The Last Drop.

Here is the other very, very old and rare whisky I got to taste recently from the portfolio of The Last Drop. A blended whisky matured in a mix of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry. Limited to 500 bottles

“The specific components of the blend were not disclosed, except to note they were drawn from “all corners of Scotland.” The blend's components also included previously mixed and aged blended Scotch whisky.” - source Forbes.com

You can still pick up a bottle online as a special gift for yourself or someone very special (make that very, very, very special) at around GBP 3250.

Nose: Chocolate covered caramel. Hints of eucalyptus and green mint. Dusty and softly oaky. Tomato vine and hints of rowan berries. With time white pepper, earthy vanilla and apricots.

Taste: Full bodied and super delicate. Honey of the most exquisite kind. Ripe orchard fruits. White pepper and hints of ginger. Dark chocolate and cold pressed coffee.

Finish: Long and longer finish. Cloudberry and raspberry jam. Nuts and oakiness. Fizzy notes of confectionary with decadent fillings.

Comment: Wow! Certainly one of the best blends I’ve ever had.

Score 92/100
