The Teeling 32 YO Irish Single Malt Whiskey is available in Norway at NOK 20 000 (14211701). That is a fair bit cheaper than what it sells for in the UK, where it ranges from GBP 1550 to GBP 2000. Still - a rather steep price for a whiskey.
Nose: Opens with a rich and complex array, a veritable symphony of both ripe orchard and dried fruits, exuding juiciness and appeal. It carries a soft earthiness, evolving into a creamy, robust spiciness, with tempered oakiness adding depth. Over time, it reveals dark, intense layers, including leather, incense, and earthy cinnamon, alongside autumnal notes of dunnage warehouses and wet leaves.
Taste: The palate is met with full-bodied intensity, rich to the brink of overwhelming. It balances fresh juiciness with dark complexity, featuring red berries, earthy rhubarb, wet leaves, and spices like cardamom and cinnamon.
Finish: The finish is exceptionally long, continuing the complex, rich fruitiness. It gradually lightens, culminating in soft notes of mint, reminiscent of Vilhelmina Peppermint hard candy.
Comment: Absolutely astonishing.
