Nose: A fancy banana split with a warm and rich caramel sauce. Softly green around the edges. With time the sweetness is more like honey, with added sweet vanilla.

Taste: Thin bodied. Watered down caramel sauce. Apple, ginger, cinnamon and sweet licorice.

Finish: Medium long finish. The banana is back, as well as baked apples. Simple syrup, ginger and caramel sauce. It takes on a distinct burnt note towards the end. Burnt caramel and burnt banana, I think .. a bit strange really.

Comment: It’s quite OK, but best suited as a gift to your old uncle that does not really drink a whole lot of whisky. Also his kids (or grand kids) will appreciate that the old gaffer cannot tell when they’ve had a sneaky swig as it comes in a ceramic decanter.

Score: 83/100
