Myken French Connection 2022

Myken French Connection 2022, 7 YO, 47 %

This might be the oldest release thus far from Norwegian distillery Myken. I’m feeling a little lazy today, so I cannot be bothered going back and checking all my previous notes. If I’m mistaken I’m pretty sure some of you will point that out in due course.

This whisky has been matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-cognac casks.

The Myken French Connection 2022 is still available at NOK 856 (14835102).

Nose: Citrus, vanilla and caramel. A malt floor and a sawmill in the background. With time also floral notes and rowan berries. With further time rich and delicate notes of dried fruits, almonds and fudge.

Taste: Medium to full body. Dry-ish with noticeable tannins. Wet oak planks, lime zest, rowan berries again and a mild spiciness. Cacao nibs.

Finish: Medium long finish. Dried fruits and .T. metal shavings. More cacao nibs.

Comment: Cacao nibbles!
