Brennevinsgrova Triple Cask Single Malt

Brennevinsgrova Triple Cask Single Malt, 3 YO, 46 %

This is the very first single malt whisky released by Norwegian distillery Brennevinsgrova. They also produce and sell gin and aquavit.

The Brennevinsgrova Triple Cask Single Malt was initially matured in in 60 l ex-bourbon casks, then in 200 litre ex-bourbon casks and finally finished in a single ex- Pedro Ximenez sherry cask. This product is limited to 447 bottles

You can still buy the Brennevinsgrova Triple Cask Single Malt in Norway at NOK 799 (14759302).

Nose: Fresh and clean notes of caramel sauce, creamy vanilla and orchard fruits. With time also dried fruit and dark and playful notes of sugary sweetness.

Taste: Rich and full bodied. Cold brewed coffee, white pepper and big malty flavors. Medium sweetness.

Finish: Short to medium length. The sweetness is more sugary now. Hints of orchard fruits make an entrance. Black pepper, toasted oak and what I would describe as chocolate smoke. Hint of mint in the end.

Comment: A rock solid debut. Welcome to Brennevinsgrova!
