Here is another whisky recently bottled exclusively for The Whisky Bar in Oslo, to celebrate their 10th Anniversary. The Knockdhu 2009 10 YO “10th Anniversary of The Whisky Bar” was distilled in May 2009, and bottled in March 2020. This is a single cask release (cask #700308) bottled by independent bottler A. D. Rattray. The total outturn was 244 bottles.

As far as I can tell this whisky is now sold out, but I am fairly sure The Whisky Bar, Oslo, has a few bottles left still. So pay them a visit if you are interested in trying this dram.

Nose: Green apples, honey, mint and white pepper. Vanilla. A minor sting of alcohol. With time more apples, and a hint of dunnage warehouse.

Taste: Rich and full bodied. Spicy on arrival. Then a wave of deep and aromatic fruitiness. Honey glazed ripe red apples, as well as fresh green apples and ripe pears. Creamy vanilla. Honey, did I mention honey?

Finish: Medium long finish. More dry now - and less sweet. A touch oaky with a pinch of salt. More of the minty notes and green herbs.

Comment: A dram for a walkabout in the Norwegian wilderness.
