This is a single cask bottling from independent bottler A. D. Rattray exclusively for Norway. The whisky was selected by Are and Stian and their Norwegian whisky podcast “Malt Prat” (“Malt Talk” or “Conversations on malt” if you will).

The Aultmore 2009 11 YO Malt for Norge Vol. 1 was matured in a single refill bourbon barrel (cask #1008). It was distilled on 2009-02-10, and bottled on 2020-10-29.

You can buy the Aultmore 2009 11 YO Malt for Norge Vol. 1 in Norway at NOK 1089 (12486401).

Nose: Light and fresh fruitiness. Ripe green pears and apples. Hints of citrus. Vanilla and memories of strawberries, marzipan and milk chocolate.

Taste: Medium body and spicy sweetness. White pepper, cinnamon and ginger. Orchard fruits. A slight astringency. Hint of mint.

Finish: Medium to long finish. I do enjoy the spicy afterburner here. It is fresh, slightly green and honeyed. Not as rich now. Drier and a touch more oaky in the end.

Comment: This works for me.
