Today I present to you the Kilchoman Vintage 2010. This is a limited, official release of 15000 bottles. It is a vatting of 42 ex-bourbon barrels and 3 Oloroso sherry butts. It was naturally distilled in 2010, and it was bottled in 2019.

A few bottles of the Kilchoman Vintage 2010 will be on sale in Norway starting August 27 at NOK 1100 (12066301). This whisky is also available to buy in the UK at around GBP 78.

Nose: Meaty and peaty as Kilchoman should be. Smoked sausages and uncooked smoky bacon, mixed with rich wood smoke and earthy peatiness. Assorted fruits in the background.

Taste: Rich and sweet. The sweetness is more to the front and center here than on the nose, but after the first few seconds the meatiness and peatiness does arrive.

Finish: Medium + length. It remains meaty and smoky throughout. On the finish it comes across as bitter-ish, with a touch ginger and grape soda.

Comment: Meaty peat is a success in my book!

Score 88/100
