A rare old release by Highland Park. Found these tasting notes when looking though my archives the other day. This is a single cask release (cask #413), and limited to just 84 bottles. It was bottled 2008.
Nose: Lovely notes of cigar box, tobacco leaves, earthy cinnamon, nutmeg and creamy vanilla. Hints of eucalyptus a whiff of heather smoke. Dusty old attic filled with books with ancient wisdom (or filled with happy nonsense - I mean who cares, as long as it is an entertaining and intelligent read, right?).
Taste: Full bodied and filled with liquid sunshine and instant bliss. It is light, clean and sublime, yet at the same time it is dark, dirty and not anywhere near “neat and perfect”. Dried fruits, cinnamon, floral honey and again heather smoke.
Finish: Long finish. Notes of orange marmalade and dark chocolate. Honey and green notes of heather and cut grass. Citrus notes in the background.
Comment: This is complex, confounding and delightful! This - is - it!
