This whisky is released to celebrate the 185th anniversary of the Glenfarclas Distillery. It is a vatting of casks from the past six decades. It is limited to 6000 bottles.

The Glenfarclas 185th Anniversary goes on sale in Norway this coming Monday at NOK 1390 (13563701).

Nose: Mildly sherried nose. Hardly any spices - I detect some cinnamon. There is an element of green herbs. With time also chocolate and more dried fruits.

Taste: Medium body, and rather dry in style. Oaky but in a good way. Dried fruits again, as well as chocolate, caramel and assorted spices.

Finish: Medium to long finish. Layered and complex finish. Assorted dried fruits, sweet but tempered. Greener in the end, with mint and eucalyptus. Very cool and menthol like on the finish line.

Comment: Certainly a fine way to celebrate the anniversary!
