This release from GlenDronach is part of the series The Master’s Anthology. The GlenDronach Ode to the Embers has the subtitle Sherry & Smoke, indicating what we have in store. It is not that often we are treated to a peated GlenDronach, so I find this interesting.

The GlenDronach Ode to the Embers will be available in Norway starting November 13 at NOK 1184 (20040201).

Nose: Mild wood smoke and gentle maltiness create a rounded, rich impression. Hints of barbecue and grilled vegetables.

Taste: Full bodied and rich. Dried fruits mingle with medium-sweet wood smoke, soot and dark chocolate for a beautifully layered palate.

Finish: Medium long. Sweet and delicate with perfect balance, ending on a juicy flourish of raisins.

Comment: Refined sweet smoke.
