George Dickel 9 YO Hand Selected Barrel

This is a sour mash whisky from Tennessee. Oh, and “Hand Selected Barrel”, what does that mean? The barrel was not AI selected? I call nonsense! If this is what the Marketing Dept. can come up with then please let the spirit speak for itself!

Not sure I know a whole lot more than that. Let’s sniff and taste!

Nose: Light, fruity and rich all at once. Evokes open farmland far from the stables—green pastures, distant livestock, open skies and sunshine. Cut grass and fresh air create a deeply relaxing impression.

Taste: Full bodied and expressive. Green herbs and perfumed notes lead into toasted oak, cinnamon and caramel. White pepper adds lift and definition.

Finish: Medium long. Milk chocolate and mint emerge, while the green, pastoral character lingers. Ends on a creamy chocolate-vanilla milkshake note.

Comment: Pastoral richness.
