Eiktyrne Quadruple Batch IV

Eiktyrne Quadruple Batch IV, NAS, 51.2%

Matured in a combination of ex-Oloroso, ex-Moscatel, ex-Sauternes and ex-PX sherry casks. Limited to 1338 bottles.

The changes from Batch III is that the previous use of ex-Rivesaltes casks have been replaced by the use of ex-Sauternes casks. The other three cask types are identical. This latest batch is also slightly higher in ABV, up from 49.8%.

The Eiktyrne Quadruple Batch IV is available to buy in Norway at NOK 830 (19181402).

Nose: Soft and inviting with a distinctly Autumnal feel; dried fruits mingle with earthy sweetness, underpinned by honey and a subtle touch of pencil shavings. As it opens up, gentle cinnamon, red berries, and a dusting of chocolate emerge, adding richness and depth.

Taste: Full bodied and warmly textured. A dry-fruited core is wrapped in soft spices, with notes of strawberry-flavored chewing gum.

Finish: Medium long. The spices maintain a gentle heat while milk chocolate and a touch of oak gradually take over. Hints of tart red berries and rhubarb bring a pleasing balance as the finish fades.

Comment: The liquid equivalent of a cozy fireplace in late Autumn.
