Dubh Glas WRWC Single Cask D-010

Dubh Glas Wee Rock Whisky Club (WRWC) Single Cask D-010, NAS, 72.4 %

I am afraid I do not have any pictures of the actual bottle.

The Dubh Glas Distillery is located in British Columbia, Canada. They make Canadian single malt whisky, using Canadian barley. This expression was bottled for the Wee Rock Whisky Club (WRWC). Matured in an ex-Ardbeg cask, and limited to 44 bottles.

Nose: Strawberries and rowan berries mingle with wet planks and fresh sawdust. Vanilla gradually softens the profile, though the fresh oak remains prominent. A faint whiff of Islay peat appears with time.

Taste: Full bodied and high-octane. Spicy and oaky from the outset, with touches of brininess and gentle Islay peat. "Dirty" strawberries and creamy vanilla provide an appealing contrast.

Finish: Medium long. Drier than the palate suggests, while retaining medium sweetness. Assorted berries remain at the forefront, dusted with mild spices. Oak is present, but far more restrained than the nose initially promised.

Comment: High-octane whisky with real mojo.

Score 85/100

Big thanks to Even S. for the sample.
