A new release from Compass Box - this time it is a Menagerie. This limited edition was bottled in January 2021, and released shortly thereafter.

This is a blended malt composed of the following single malts:

Mortlach, recharred barrel, 42.6 % of recipe
Glen Elgin, recharred barrel and refill sherry seasoned butt, 18.1 % of the recipe
Deanston, refill hogshead and refill sherry seasoned butt, 17.1 % of recipe
Highland Malt Blend, custom French oak barrel - medium and heavy toast, 16.8 % of recipe
Laphroaig, recharred hogshead, 5.4 % of the recipe

The Compass Box Menagerie goes on sale in two days in Norway at NOK 1365 (13559701).

Nose: Apple wax, hints of petroleum hints. Fresh fruitiness. Vanilla. Light and delicate in style. With time more vanilla and cinnamon.

Taste: Medium body. Ripe apples -waxy. Oranges, lots of oranges - not bitter but zesty. Fizzy ginger. Honey.

Finish: Medium long finish. More zestiness now - borderline grapefruit. More green herbs and cut grass.

Comment: Always fun with a Compass Box.
