On rare occasions Chichibu bottlings are available in Sweden and/or Norway. This particular release was bottled exclusively for Sweden in 2018. Distilled in 2012 it was fully matured in new American white oak. Cask #1700 yielded a total of 268 bottles.

Nose: A bit raw at first. Vanilla for sure. Pears and hints of tropical fruits. Almond paste.

Taste: Very rich and full-bodied. Again a little raw, but I quickly get over that. It is big! Borderline overwhelming. Tons of vanilla and icing sugar. Tropical fruits - primarily in the form of pineapple. Marzipan.

Finish: Medium long finish. Continues as it started. Not a lot of development.

Comment: A fine dram, but not amongst the best from Chichibu.
