An independent bottling from Douglas Laing. The Caol Ila 2011 8 YO Old Particular comes in a 50 cl bottle.. The whisky was distilled back in February 2011, matured in a single refill hogshead, and bottled in April 2019. The total outturn was 479 bottles.

Nose: Mild and subdued smoke at first. Softly maritime, as expected from a Caol Ila. Light fruitiness and vanilla. Softly spoken, this one.
Taste: Medium body and dry in character. Wood smoke and ashes, Salt and sugar. Ripe apples and mild citrus. Vanilla and some cinnamon.
Finish: Medium to short finish. A touch green towards the end . Remains maritime in style. Chocolate peat.
Comment: Maybe not very exciting, but I found it charming all the same.
