This remarkable whisky was distilled 1965. It is a blend, married as new make spirit and and matured in a single American white oak ex-bourbon cask. Limited to 192 bottles.

Nose: Chocolate, cacao nibs, marzipan and creamy vanilla. Dark and almost "dirty" in character, in a very good way. With time, dark fudge, well-worn leather, nuts, incense and cigar box add further depth.

Taste: Full bodied. Light and fresh at first, before vibrant citrus and green herbs take over. Pencil shavings and rich nougat provide a deeper, more structured counterpoint.

Finish: Very long. More nougat, turning increasingly nutty as it develops. The oakiness is ever present but tempered, before refined notes of mint and eucalyptus bring freshness towards the end.

Comment: Dark, dirty and beautifully refined.
