Time for another expression from independent bottler That Boutique-y Whisky Company (TBWC). The Blair Athol 17 YO (TBWC) is a limited release of 502 bottles. No further details are known.

A 50 cl bottle of the Blair Athol 17 YO (TBWC) will set you back around GBP 60.

Nose: Yum! This is scrumptious. In as much as a nose can be scrumptious.. Tropical fruits - pineapple juice, coconut flakes and mango sorbet. Add to this vanilla, icing sugar and grape juice.  Surely this is one heck of a bourbon barrel.

Taste: Body - full. Check! Sweetness more than adequate. Check! Fruitiness suitable to qualify as one of my 5-a-day. Check! Smoothness on par with a closely shaved coconut. Check. Hmm, what else? I might have lost track here.. It is fine though, real fine. Spiciness worthy of the finest bazaar. Check!

Finish: Medium to long finish. Continues much as it started (wow, that was a boring follow-up! On my part, I mean. The whisky is certainly holding up!). Perhaps a bit more oaky now? It does fly straight and land very softly.

Comment: Dram ahoy!

Score 87/100

PS! Still waiting for more TBWC whiskies to be released in Norway!

Sláinte!
