Swedish independent bottler Svenska Eldvatten celebrate their 10th anniversary this year, and have released a number of special bottlings to commemorate this milestone. Now we get this expression bottled exclusively for their importer in Norway, Daracha AS.

This whisky was distilled 2001-06-29, matured in a single ex-sherry hogshead (cask #1288), and bottled 2021-08-16. A total of 170 bottles was the end result.

The Ben Nevis 2001 20 YO 10th Anniversary Svenska Eldvatten goes on sale here in Norway on Monday at NOK 2175 (13802301).

Nose: Warm and delightful. Warm spices, tobacco, and a well used leather armchair.

Taste: Medium body. Wow, this is very green. Tomato plant, cut grass, mustard seeds, and green herbs. There’s a medium level fruitiness as well, and of course some vanilla and mild spices.

Finish: Medium to long finish. Less green towards the end, but still a lot of tomato plant. Some added icing sugar and dried fruits.

Comment: I approve of this!
