This new release from Islay distillery Ardnahoe has been matured predominantly in ex-Oloroso sherry casks, To be more precise it has been matured in 50% ex-Oloroso sherry casks, 5% ex-PX sherry quarter casks, 5% ex-Oloroso sherry quarter casks, and 40% 1st fill and refill ex-bourbon casks.

Nose: Christmas spices set a mellow and appealing tone. Soft brininess and medium smoke blend with cinnamon, earthy notes, vanilla and gentle florals.

Taste: Full bodied and dryish. Charcoal and ashes meet sherry sweetness, with saline touches, iodine and mild floral and earthy accents.

Finish: Medium long. Becomes more peppery and rich, with creamy texture. Soft brininess and light oakiness follow, ending on minty chewing gum.

Comment: Smoky spice with coastal charm.
