Writers Tears Pot Still Irish Whiskey

Writers Tears Pot Still Irish Whiskey

I have already written about the two other Irish whiskeys I tasted at the Cinderella Whisky Fair 2014; The Irishman Cask Strength and The Irishman Founder's Reserve. Today it is time for Writers Tears Pot Still Irish Whiskey.

Writers Tears is a vatting of Single Malt and Single Pot Still (proportions are a closely guarded secret - but we know...). I was very excited to try a new Irish whiskey.

Writers Tears is not available at Vinmonopolet in Norway. Systembolaget in Sweden has two Writers Tears, but the information on their web page makes it impossible to know if it is the one I am writing about.

Nose (22/25): Like The Irishman Founder's Reserve I found a lot of candy and fruit. Very fresh.

Taste (22/25): White pepper, fruit juice (apples, oranges and some more). Smooth. Very fruity.

Finish (22/25): Fruit and fruit! Lovely, just like a candy shop with candy that contains actual sugar and fruit!

Balance (22/25): A nicely balanced whiskey with a lot of fruitiness. Lovely! The first that came to my mind was that this would be a great whisky to introduce to The Ladies' Share!

Score 88/100
