Thy Spelt Rye (2021), 3 YO, 47.9 %

The mash bill for this Danish rye whisky is 50 % malted rye, 10 % malted spelt and 40 % malted Odyssey barley. This is the 2021 edition of the Thy Spelt Rye, a limited edition of 820 bottles.

Nose: Friendly rye spiciness. Some oakiness as well. Softly floral. Creamy vanilla and aniseed. Rye bread.

Taste: Medium body. Peppery up front. Vanilla and notes of cut grass. Malty with notes of camphor and orchard fruits.

Finish: Medium long. Sweeter and less spicy now. Floral notes - rather green. Rye notes all the way.

Comment: A rambunctious scoundrel.
