This is the annual release of the Springbank 12 YO Cask Strength, bottled in January 2020. It has been matured in 35 % sherry casks and 65 % bourbon casks.

Nose: Malty and rich with bread crust / cereal, sawdust, and mild farmyard funky. Vanilla and dried fruits. With time I get more farmyard funk, but I love this in a proper Springbank. Chocolate and a deeper sweetness.

Taste: Full bodied. Well, duh!. Citrus fruit mixed with assorted spices. Rather tropical in style. And dried fruits as well.

Finish: Medium to long finish. Fruity hard candy galore. Some peppery, oaky peat on the finish, but not a lot. Fruity throughout. Balanced and complex.

Comment: For the sweet tooth and the quality minded.
