Scottish Leader

Scottish Leader, 3 YO, 40 %

Today I present a well-known blended Scotch whisky, the Scottish Leader.

I have no facts or details to give whatsoever, as nothing is to be found online.

You can buy the Scottish Leader in Norway at NOK 450 (100cl)  (8269401), in Sweden at SEK 239 (70 cl) (8542201), and in the UK at around GBP 17.50 (70 cl).

Nose: Toasted oak, chocolate. Dry - sun-warmed sand. Hints of sweet smoke. Honey infused oak. Not half bad on the nose, actually.

Taste: Skinny body - close to no body at all, in fact. Mild notes of honey and caramel. Again hints of smoke. White pepper.

Finish: Short finish. Thin and watery. Caramel, ginger and bitter-ish oak.

Comment: While the nose is fair enough, the palate leaves no doubts that this is a whisky meant to be served in cocktails, or with an abundance of ice.

Score 70/100
