This was the second release out of four to showcase the signature single malts that make up the Ballantine’s blend. The Scapa 17 YO - Ballantine's Signature Distillery was launched in December 2012, as Travel Retail in Asia.

Nose: Fresh orchard fruits, sliced and diced, served in a bowl with marshmallows and strawberries. There's a touch of citrus here as well. Add to that a generous helping of icing sugar and and a freshly split vanilla stick.

Taste: Lighter in style than the previous two, medium to slim body. Honey and orchard fruits. Vanilla and almonds.

Finish: Medium long finish. Hints of white pepper and cinnamon are added to the mix. Quite floral and green now. Towards the end it turns slightly oaky - with camphor and nuts. Somewhat malty in the end.

Comment: A solid dram by any measure. Reminds me of the old Scapa 16 YO.
