This is a single grain whisky from North British Distillery, bottled by Cadenhead’s. I picked up a bottle at their shop in Edinburgh. A shop well worth visiting if you ever get the chance.

The North British 26 YO has been matured in a bourbon barrel, which yielded 120 bottles. It was bottled in October 2015.

Nose: A dusty old candy store. I mean the store itself is dusty, but charmingly so, with old oak panels. The candy is fresh, fruity, and available in an abundance of different types.

Taste: Full bodied and sweeet! Juicy orchard fruits and sugary sweetness. On subsequent sips the fruits are more tropical. I find pineapple and honey dew melon as well now. Vanilla and white pepper.

Finish: Long finish. Keeps on keepin' on - fruity and sweet all the way.

Comment: Perhaps not very complex, but if you have a sweet tooth look no further!

Score 88/100
