The Nikka Yoichi 10 YO will be available later this week at NOK 1900 (16945801).

Nose: Velvety vanilla and light summer fruits lead the way, joined by almond pudding and gentle malt. Mild spices, like cinnamon and earthy vanilla, add warmth. With time a hint of strawberry milkshake appears, followed by a faint wisp of smoke.

Taste: Medium to full bodied and slightly spicier on the palate. Vanilla and caramel mingle with peppery warmth (echoes of Szechuan pepper?) alongside coffee, dark chocolate and a trace of soot.

Finish: Medium to long. A mild smokiness develops, joined by green herbs and delicate floral notes.

Comment: Creamy spice with smoky lift.
