Myken Norsk Malt 2022

Myken Norsk Malt 2022, 3 YO, 47 %

A Norwegian single malt whisky made using 100 % Norwegian malt. Matured in 10 small 30 litre 1st fill ex-bourbon casks, and limited to 678 bottles. The casks were filled on March 13 and 14 back in 2019, and emptied on May 25 2022.

The malt is sourced from Stor-Gaalaas farm in Furnes. The barley type used is Salome.

The Myken Norsk Malt 2022 is still available to buy at NOK 1020 (14720602).

Nose: Rich and fresh malty notes, followed by pencil shavings and creamy vanilla. With time hints of orchard fruits and red berries.

Taste: Medium body and sweetness. Malty with distinct notes of vanilla and - again - pencil shavings.

Finish: Short to medium long finish. More malt, more pencil shavings, more vanilla. Green notes of cut grass and tomato vine as well. Surprisingly creamy all the way - almost buttery in the end.

Comment: More Norwegian malt to the people!

Score 82/100
